Unfortunately, the URL encoding does not seem to work in the VSOUP
userid field. Here's the report (modified only to hide my password
from the list:

---------- Sun Jul 9 00:00:35 2000
VSoup v1.2.8 (rg190497) started
vsoup.exe -m nntp://quilty0spire.com:PASSWORD@news.spire.com
home directory: i:\spool
newsrc file: i:\spool/newsrc
kill file: i:\spool/score
nntp server: nntp://quilty0spire.com:*@news.spire.com

vsoup.exe: server: ...eeve.ziplink.net news server (Typhoon v1.2.1)
vsoup.exe: connected to news server news.spire.com (getNews)
cannot select comp.lang.clipper:

I'm not sure where the '0' came from where the '@' should be, but my
batch file to run it had (modula the password change):

vsoup.exe -m nntp://quilty%40spire.com:PASSWORD@news.spire.com

It *looks* like the '0' might be the last bit of the string '%40'...
but who knows.

Yours, Lulu...

P.S. I don't *have* a VSOUP.HTML file, only a VSOUP.INF (that doesn't
seem to say anything about URL encoding). I guess there is a VSOUP
1.2.9, so maybe that changes things. Still, I got SOUPER working, so
good enough.
