Spread all of the pieces in the middle of the table, face down, making certain
that everyone can reach them. Before the game can begin, each person needs to
take seven pieces and not look at them. When everyone is ready to play, one
person says "Go." Everyone flips their pieces over.
This is not an interactive game. Each person works on his or her own personal
crossword, trying to use all of their letters before the rest of the players.
When the first person has made a crossword with their seven tiles, they say
"Go" and everyone takes another tile from the middle. Each player should now
have eight tiles with which to try to make a crossword. When the first person
does that, they say "Go," everyone grabs another tile, and so on. The game ends
when someone makes a crossword and there are no tiles left in the middle.
Have fun, and go on to my
pages.
Today you're going to learn to play Speed Scrabble.
It's easy, fun, and way addictive. All you need is a set of Scrabble pieces
(no board necessary), two or three friends (it won't work with less than
three or many more than four), and a flat playing surface.
