12 February 1998

I registered to vote in Washington County, New York, in the summer of 1995 while I worked for NYPIRG, but since I was on vacation from college in Indiana at the time I didn't think much of it. Since that summer I have lived in Indiana, Washington, and now in Canada, each time filling out forwarding address forms and notifying all the people I'm supposed to.

Yesterday, however, I received mail from the Washington County Board of Elections asking if I've moved. If they'd sent it a year ago I would have filled it out without a thought, but they sent it at a time when I'm fairly close to moving back to New York State.

The problem, then, is how to research the political goings-on in New York so that I can make an informed decision or two in November. Luckily I do have plenty of time, but supplementing that with some cold facts can't hurt. The only web site I was able to find is called Eye On New York (not counting the propaganda out of the governor's office). Maybe there will be more available closer to the fall.

Enough already, go on to my pages.
