Amber (the fossilized tree resin) is everywhere. I see it in every jewelry
store and museum shop I find. In fact, my goal when I'm old and eccentric
is to own so much amber jewelry that I become a parody of myself at
parties.
No, it's not exciting, it's just a goal. But I digress...
If you're looking to buy amber, or just find information about it online,
you might want to try the following links:
There you go, now stop bugging me (no pun intended) and move on to
My Pages.
Every so often I get email from someone asking me if I know where to buy
amber. Since I am not for sale and I don't know anyone of that name who is
(personally, at least... look in the back of any newspaper or magazine and
I'm sure you can find at least one), I generally assume they mean the stuff.
Unexpecting Guest: "My that's a lovely necklace/earrings/ring/bracelet/etc.,
what stone is that?"
Me: "Why, it's Amber."
UG: "Really? It's very nice. I'm [insert name here], by the way. You are...?"
Me: "Amber."
A fairly cheesy page with a lot of good pictures, articles, and even
a trivia game.
Be sure to check out their collector pieces, especially the
lizard.
Kind of slow, but a professional site with a good selection of
jewelry.
