On June 18, 2005 we threw a huge surprise party for Joe's eightieth birthday. We had almost one hundred guests from all over including his son Patrick and grandson Chris from the west coast. The Cain Gang, a band that includes his eldest, D'Arcy and youngest Ken, performed and sang songs for their father while the birthday cake was being rolled in. We had several special guests appear such as, Joe Cain himself playing the keyboard, Benny Sanders singing and Lee Van Leer singing and playing the guitar.
