Souper skipping messages?

I've just started using Souper with Yarn under OS/2 and seem to be having a
problem. When Souper connects to my mail server (Compuserve NNTP) it reports the
number of unread messages, for example 100, as it starts to download them.
However only a small percentage of the messages actually get downloaded and
"imported" into Yarn. I have no Kill file setup and have packetsize set to 4096.
Judging by the time spent by Souper in each news group it is certainly not
downloading the number of unrread messages it reports.

Has anyone got any ideas on my problem?
