This talk of a SPAM filter has got me wondering. I am a VERY religious
anti-spam complainer. Any SPAM I get that references any other
internet address (usually an http) I complain about in a (frequently
successful) attempt to get the site (and any related sites) shut down.
I normally spend between 30-45 minutes per complaint to make sure I've
got the address of everybody even remotely connected to the site, and
will occassionally spend a couple of hours doing searches to see if I
can track down the parent site.
I don't bother with the ones that ask me to send money too a box # in
Wyoming since there is obviously nothing I can do here (although I
wonder if the post office has a web site for reporting mail fraud?)
Anyway, I now get about 3 SPAMs a week (about 2 a day during the
holidays). Does anybody here post to USENET from time to time and not
complain about SPAM. If so, how many SPAMs do you get?
In other words has my utterly insane amount of effort had any effect at
all?
Cordially;
