I have a couple of utilities here that you may want to consider.
Sendfold.exe from yutil04.zip or ytsgdos.exe from ytsg3.zip will
convert Yarn folders (back) to SOUP packets. Both are available
in ...simtelnet/msdos/mailnews/.

I don't have any news folders handy, but I just converted a mail
folder and both programs seem to work. The latter comes with GNU
source code (AIX?), so it might be possible to compile something
along these lines for Linux.

Once you've converted your Yarn folders to SOUP in DOS, they can
be transferred to Linux, where you can use MultiMail to read them.
