Lucy Liu - Actress
Lucy Liu was born Lucy Alexis Liu to Chinese immigrants on December 2,
1968, in Queens County, New York. At five-foot three (1.6 m), she is
larger than life, at least on screen. Her personality has allowed her
to break free from ethnic stereotyping, leading to roles that are
defined by their dynamic energy. Graduating from High School in 1986,
she entered NYU, but disliking the environment, she went to the
University of Michigan where she graduated with a degree in Asian
Languages and Culture. She received training in voice, dance, and
acting, receiving the leading part in Alice in Wonderland in her senior
year. This motivated her to try professional acting, so she moved to LA
where she eventually acquired a guest appearance on "Beverley Hills,
90210". This led to small parts on "NYPD Blue", "ER", "The X Files",
and Saturday Night Live. She ultimately received a part in a sitcom in
1996 (and she has been notably portrayed in the cartoon "Futurama".)
Lucy appeared in her first movie in 1996 (Jerry Maguire), but finally received her break on "Allie McBeal". She had auditioned for another part, but had so impressed the producer, that he wrote another part for her, that of an ill-tempered lawyer, which she so deftly defined that she became a regular cast member. Many movie roles followed in succession, her most notable being as a member of the Charlie's Angels trio, in year 2000. As for her future, it makes no difference as she has already achieved multiple successes without being a full-figured glamour model. Her intrinsic attractiveness melds with a dynamic personality, and a motivational intensity, that will achieve far greater status for her. Watch for more dramatic roles in the future. .15hqqv. ![]() CelebWeLove.com Free counters provided by Andale. | |||
