Arènes de Lutèce date from the second or third century,
when the Romans were in France. When I was there, there was a
group of older French men playing boules (I guess it's
similar to or the same as bocce ball), several people sitting
in the stands watching, and trucks sitting there full of equipment
for an upcoming production of Les Misérables.
I was amazed that this ancient space is still used like this.
