the left is my roommate Kimberley. Renée at the hotel suggested
that we share a room because we were both women traveling alone.
Doing so saved us both a lot of money and gave us each a traveling
companion for when we wanted to visit places with someone else,
or just have someone to talk to when we sipped drinks at a sidewalk
café. Kimberley is Canadian but lives and works in London,
England, so she can travel around Europe when the whim strikes.
She was lots of fun.
Taking the picture is Amy, who shared a room with Kimberley
after I left. Amy is an American opera singer and had just spent
a lot of time in Tuscany, then gone to Avignon for the annual
theatre festival there. You meet the most eeeeeeeeeeeeentaresting
people in Europe.
