Gare de Lyon from the Pont Charles de Gaulle

The Gare de Lyon, in the middle of the picture, from the Pont Charles de Gaulle. The bridge and the buildings on either side of the train station prove that not every last bridge or building in Paris is elegant and beautiful.

To get to the Gare de Lyon I traipsed past the Hôpital Salpetrière (couldn't see much of the hospital itself; it looked to be in a fairly residential area) and the Gare d'Austerlitz, where I stopped to pick up a train schedule to find out what to do the following day when I had to get to Brussels. I might have gone into the Gare de Lyon except that every step was painful, and I was on a mission to complete Christophe's itinerary and see the Bastille.
