The lobby of the Louvre

This is a shot of the lobby of the Louvre, and of happy mvsevmgoers on their way down the spiral staircase into the mvsevm. (I love spiral staircases.)

I wanted to see the works of the seventeenth-century painter Georges de La Tour, one of my favorite artists, and I thought while I was there I should probably see the Big Three, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, the Venus de Milo, and the Mona Lisa. I picked up a map, half-debating whether it would be too uncool to grab one labeled "ENGLISH" until I decided I'd rather understand what I was looking at than appear hip to people who would never see me again. Then I went to the Information desk to ask where La Tour's works were. The woman there pointed to the Sully wing, so off I went.
