Rights for women, queers, and everyone else Content

I am a woman, and a feminist. I know a lot of women who are afraid to call themselves feminists, for fear of being lumped in with the shrill "feminists" who insist that intercourse is a "violative abuse" and who decry pornography because they equate it to "woman hating." It's very easy to make off-the-wall arguments like that if you're willing to redefine your terms. I'm not. I believe in respecting people for their individuality, being aware of privileges gained unfairly and working to establish them for everyone, and being responsible for oneself and one's society.
