There is a common misconception that because something is "copyrighted" there is a copy of it on file at the Library of Congress, or something like that. All of my writings are lawfully protected under common law copyright, and as such, are my exclusive property.

HOWEVER, quoting (in context) and using my posts as a basis for further discussion, etc., is not a violation. Using them for educational purposes is within the law. All of this falls under the "fair use" rule. This is the same rule that allows authors to parody lyrics and poems, etc. Using my posts for profit, without my permission; that would be illegal and a violation of my copyright holding.

Under the fair use rule, there is little to no chance I would be able to win a suit were I to try to collect royalties for the use of my posts within a forum in which one participates with the full knowledge that his material will be quoted and used by others. The only way I could win such a suit would be before a nice White Power judge ;)
