Do you ever make theme tapes? Did you ever wonder how many songs there are about dogs? Are you interested in songs with thematic connections? This is the place for you!
Based on a number of threads in the now defunct alt.rock-n-roll.oldies newsgroup (and still alive in the active rec.music.rock-pop-r+b.1950s, rec.music.rock-pop-r+b.1960s and rec.music.rock-pop-r+b.1970s newsgroups). The idea is to come up with a list of "songs about..." some subject, name or topic. The answers were usually restricted to song titles or a specific time period.
You can participate by sending me an email with any additions to the lists on these pages. I need the song title, the artist and the year the song was released. The rules: "oldies" are restricted to songs released during the 1950-1979 time frame; the songs must have reached an industry or radio station chart. If you have made any "theme tapes", or are inspired by these lists to create some, please send my the details and I will feature them on the site.
