Hal Blaine
Richard Harrington wrote an article in The Washington Post, Sunday July
13 1997 edition, on Hal Blaine. Blaine is the featured drummer on more
than 8,300 records from the 60s and 70s. Including 39 #1 songs and 107
Top Ten hits. In spite of that, he is virtually unknown... except to
those that read liner notes!
Bruce Gary (The Knack) said his biggest disappointment was finding out
Hal Blaine was a dozen of his favorite drummers.
He played on *lots* of Neil Diamond sessions. Including the #1 songs:
Cracklin' Rosie and Song Sung Blue.
