Spotlight album: Velvet Gloves & Spit

I'd like to start a discussion of Neil Diamond's albums on the Beautiful
Noise list. I expect we could hold a discussion for two or three weeks on
each album. Let's set a deadline of September 8, at which time we can
move on to the next one.

Neil Diamond released a few singles on Bang records in 1966 and 1967, and
two albums. Due to increasing "artistic differences" with Bang, Neil left
for Universal's new UNI label in 1968.

His first UNI album, released in October 1968, was VELVET GLOVES AND SPIT.

The songs on the album were:
	Two-Bit Manchild
A Modern Day Version Of Love
	Honey-Drippin' Times
	The Pot Smoker's Song
	Brooklyn Roads
	Shilo
	Sunday Sun
	Holiday Inn Blues
	Practically Newborn
	Knackerflerg
	Merry-Go-Round

I'd like to solicit your reviews of this album. Please send them to the
list at: beautiful-noise@listserv.prodigy.com
