Sony Board
Hi everyone,
I sent an e-mail to Sony last evening asking that they please clear the
board of all postings. I explained it was full of porogrhaphy etc. To
my surprise I received an answer with about an hour, and today the board
was cleared. There appears to be basically one person posting, and he
isn't a fan. I think we need to just stay away for awhile and he will
get bored and leave. In the meantime we have this wonderful lissttt to
share our thoughts, and ther has been an alternative message board set
up at http://disc.server.com/discussion.cgi?id=6497
Paul, maybe you could add a link to this site.
Now for my thoughts about the Jazz Singer. I love the movie, because
it is Neil. The sound track, and concert footage alone make it great.
To me there are a lot of similarities in his life and the story line of
the movie. On the other hand, the script is weak. Too many cliches,
etc. I can't blame this on Neil, but it does affect the overall quality
of the movie. What I don't understand is why the critics were so hard
on the story/dialogue. After all, it is a musical, not a drama, do
Oklahoma, Singin' in the Rain, South Pacific etc. have great stories. I
don't think so. Yet they get very good critcal ratings.
