At the end of my bio I mentioned that my one biggest regret was never having seen Elton live. Well, as of last night, I have no regrets! I went to Great Woods (Mansfield, MA) without a ticket, found a kind stranger selling an extra ticket for face value, and FINALLY got to see Elton in concert. The show lived up to every expectation - a great showman, singer and musician - and the song list didn't lean too heavily on either greatest hits or songs from The One. A great, great show.
For those who like to keep track of his sets, I've done my best to try and recall what he played, and in what order. The beginning and end of this list are completely accurate - the middle (everything after the fourth song, and before The Show Must Go On) is roughly correct in order. I don't believe I failed to recall any songs. Sorry for any inaccuracies - it was difficult to memorize all of the songs, dance, and keep my binoculars focused on Elton, all at the same time!
Anyway ...
(Elton takes the stage at about 7:50 pm, wearing black studded pants, black t-shirt, red vest with gold clasps, and a white jacket with tails - hey, even his hair looked good!)
