SPOILER: "I was at the Oprah show today too!!!"

by RoofTopMom

I was at the Oprah show today too!!! It was like an out of body experience-so incredible!!!! It was really like a private concert for about 200 people. I feel totally thankful to have been part of it.

He was asked about concerts with Billy Joel and he did mention a plan may be in the works for a concert next summer with Billy at Soldier Field. Keep your fingers crossed.

He really has been giving the best interviews lately. His sense of humor is really showing and he does seem so much more relaxed. He was asked where he likes to shop the most - his reply "Neiman Marcus and Cartier".

It was a shame that when the show ended he and Oprah dashed off the stage together so quickly and didn't come back for a goodbye. But it was truly a day to remember and I am totally exhausted!!!!!

And, after calming down...

Words can not describe the experience of a lifetime!!!! He's just amazing and it's so nice to see him more relaxed when he does these interviews. I was actually feeling bad for him for awhile though. Can you image how tedious it must be to go from place to place for these interviews and be asked the same old questions and bring up the same old issues. But he handled it great!!! So here's some of the scoop you didn't get to see on the show!!!

There was a book Oprah was holding on the show that was never mentioned but during the taping we saw it. It's called Elton John: Flower Fantasies to be released about Oct 1st according to Oprah online.

He actually played four songs for us. He played Crocodile Rock as a ballad. The producers ran through the audience and told us when he started to play to dance like mad so when they announced the song everyone stood up but looked at each other because it wasn't at all what they expected. (I've heard the version before at his concerts). The staff was shocked and I bet that's why it wasn't aired.

When Oprah and Elton were talking about her will and he said all he wanted were her earrings she told him she wanted his tiaras and there was alot of joking that went along with that but I guess you had to be there to appreciate it.

When he sang Something About The Way You Look Tonight he wasn't playing the piano. He had brought two pianos with him and this one was switched with the original because it was a muted one. He was really singing but not playing and when you watch the show you can really tell.

Did you catch the name of the cd he was talking about that helped him get through his loses? It called Sand and Water by Beth Nielsen-Chapman. I'm gonna check it out.

Did you notice the picture of him that was black and white and he's sitting at the piano covered in balls? Well the man who took that picture was in the audience and thanked him for making his day in 1974. Elton looked at him like why and then he told Elton he was the one who took the picture. So at the end of the show they took it down and he got to go backstage for it to be autographed!!!! Awsome!!!!!

That show could have gone on for hours!!! I guess when you're so excited to be there it feels like time just flew by. It was really nice that the audience was able to ask him questions straight on even though they weren't aired. Well that's all I can remember for now. But as I rewatch the tape I'm sure things will come back and if it's anything good I'll be back.

I wish him a long, healthy, safe life and thank God he's made it to be celebrated as a legend while he's still here to enjoy it!!!! He deserves it!!!!!!
