Winston-Salem Show!!

by: Erik

Just got back from the show in Winston. Amazing! This was definately the best performance by EJ that I've seen. His voice was spectacular and the band sounded great too. Elton was in a great mood and autographed about 25 tourbooks and things from people in the front rows. I would loved to have been up there, but I wasn't too far back. The song set was identical to the one from the Roxy show, so I won't duplicate it here.

I was disappointed with the crowd though. I hate it when people get up and leave to get a beer or whatever when new or obscure songs are being played.

Elton even said "I'm going to play another new song now, I know that you probably want to hear old songs but I have to play new songs or there would never be any new material!" I thought that was great! I just think that it is disrespectful when people do that. I mean, this is EJ we are talking about here! You stay for ALL the damn songs, ok?

There was this guy after the show outside and I heard him say to his buddies, "I can't believe he didn't play CITW!" I thought to myself "What a goober". I'm sorry, but these people need to stay at home.

The only other dissapointment was the product selection. 4 t-shirts I believe and 1 sweatshirt. The t-shirts were the album cover which I bought, that to me, already looks faded out. Instead of the bright green dishes it looks like they are pea-green. Two black t-shirts that one has the cd picture on it and the other one has the picture from inside the liner notes where he is standing. I can't remember the other one. Maybe there were only 3 now that I think about it.

The sweatshirt was white and just like the album cover t-shirts. All with tour dates, of course on the back. Then there was the tour book, again album cover art. Nice pictures inside and done just like the format of the cd liner notes. Very nice. Other than that, I didn't see any hats or other products. Did anyone else see anything different?

Well, I'm getting ready to go to the Chareslton and Columbia shows! Everyone enjoy the shows, they're fantastic!
