This show was awesome!
Elton was wearing a blue suit, red frames, and black cowboy boots with sparkly silver tips. As I was waiting for it to start, I admired the three huge triangular banners that were in front of the stage. I believe one had a sun and another was a naked lady. I am an extremely shy and reserved person, but when Elton came out, I hollered at the top of my lungs for about 2 seconds. This was before the lights came on, but the figure was sitting at the piano and I assumed it was Elton (and it was.)
Being behind the stage, I was getting to see him before the people in front of the stage, due to the banners. He was rocking back and forth to the beat of the intro to Simple Life. When the lights came on, he turned excitedly sideways to face the audience, giving them a thrill I'm sure. Viewing his lovely back for most of the show, I was delighted when after almost every song, he would turn around and wave or bow so that he had a chance to face everyone in the arena.
And he has great hair! I never noticed it before, but with the stage lights I could tell it's nice and shiny. Also, I believe it's longer now than it used to be. At certain times in the show, he would alomst violently shake his head forwards and backwards, hair falling back into place ever time.
About midway through the show, a band member gave him what appeared to be a little headdress with colorful feathers. He only wore it for a few seconds and said something like "Mercy" into the mic before taking it off. This IS Oklahoma alright. That's funny.
During Honky Cat, he stood up and pointed to different sides of the arena, cueing them when to yell. He looked adorable, like a little boy.
This concert went on for 3 hours with no intermission or opening act. Needless to say, I had a wonderful time. But a note to future SPOILER writers: give the audience a break. There's no way you can tell if they know the songs or if they're TRUE fans, unless you're a mind reader. Some people might have been so mesmorized by it all, that sitting and staring was all they could do...You never know.
Thanks for reading.
