Manchester Concert (Last Uk Tour ??)

by: Mark Danby

I saw Elton play my home town of Manchster at the Nynex Arena last Sunday night and the set was as follows.

Simple LIfe
The One
Grey Seal
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Honky Cat
Sacrifice
Tiny Dancer
I Guess Thats Why they Call it The Blues
If the River Can Bend
I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That
D.L.T.S.G.D.O.M
Sorry Seems to Be
Last Song
Daniel
Take Me to the Pilot
Someone Saved My Life Tonight
Philadelphia Freedom
Benny and the Jets
Saturday Night

Your Song
The Bitch is Back

The whole set lasted 2 hours and Elton appeared in good form with the Manchester crowd in my opinion being one of the best I have seen at a Elton concert. However about half through the concert, I think before D.L.T.S.G.D.O.M. Elton made the following announcement.

"This is the last British tour that we are going to be doing, I was supposed to be back here next year with Billy Joel but apparently that has gone down the tubes so this is the last time you will see me play Manchester, OK."

I was in a state of shock for 2 or 3 songs.

The local paper reported the following night that Elton had being in a bad mood backstage and told the band that he was cutting part of the concert. The announcment appantly came as a shock to Elton's Management and as of today Wednesday tickets are still on sale for all UK venus and the official line is that the concerts are still on.

Could anyone tell me what Elton cut out of the show. What did he play at the other UK concerts?
