I was fortunate to see Elton at Roanoke. He sang and played GREAT. From my seat, I could also see that he was using a teleprompter. I think he did two songs that didn't appear on the original set list. He announced prior to playing Mona Lisas that he hadn't planned to do this song, this sent the guys at the teleprompter computer into a frenzy trying to find the lyrics. Elton didn't need them. Also, almost at the end of the set, he came over and asked how much time he had left, and then when over to the piano and started playing Levon. Again, another lyric search at the telepromter computer.
A great show, to quote Elton, "I've been wanting to do a tour like this for a long time, this is how the songs sounded when I originally wrote them." I've never heard them sound better!
