We just got back from the Chattanooga show. ELTON ROCKED OUR WORLD!!
We started off the big night with seats in the nose bleed section. But upon arriving at UTC, we inquired at the box office, we were fortunate enough to be able to upgrade our seats to 19th row. Through the direction of a sympathetic security guard, we never had to leave the first six rows.
Elton wore his usual black attire (give it a rest). The audience was more of an oil painting. We could not believe our eyes when we saw people yawning and nodding. Each time we stood up we were asked to sit down. Standing was only allowed between songs. COME ON PEOPLE, IT'S A CONCERT, NOT A FUNERAL!
At one point when Elton was just starting to get into the piano playing on I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That, we jumped up and started rocking. Elton nodded his approval by looking in our direction and rocking the keys even harder. That was the most awesome feeling. Bernie was the special guest of the evening and looking very fit. Elton gave out a lot of autographs and we were lucky enough to get a few of them.
He replaced Amazes Me with Better Off Dead. He only performed two encores tonight. [We look forward to writing another review and article ] after the Atlanta show!
