As stated before by other Atlanta Rowers, Elton put on an amazing show at the Fox. I, too, had a balcony seat (right loge) six rows from the front edge. It was wonderful to hear the old classics like Friends and The Greatest Discovery. And it was wonderful to see him again ( four times in less than a year-and -a half! ).
Many thanks to Darrell and Lisa for making it possible.
This was one of the best shows I've seen. What really impressed me was how well Elton was received by the crowd. There were thunderous applause at the beginning of almost every song. And at the end of almost every song he received a standing ovation, with some lasting quite a long time. I was proud to be a part this incredible outpouring of affection for Elton. I had never experienced this before at other shows. You could tell he was very touched by it all. If he didn't know it before, he now knows how much Atlanta loves him.
Before the show, I also attended the B98.5FM gathering upstairs at Bridgetown Grill for fans of Elton. They played all Elton songs and also showed videos. There I met up with Lisa and Darla (hello guys!). I also met Will Gara of B 98.5FM who put together the Elton gathering. It was a lot of fun and great to be amongst other Elton fans. Thanks Will (he's a lurker here!).
