Last night was an amazing night. Elton looked and sounded great... I had a lot of fun. It was my second Ej concert.
When we were on the way there, I was afraid we were going to be late because we got stuck in traffic.. I was going nuts. We managed to get there on time, and after we got in, I bought tourbooks, and when we finally found our seats, I was shocked at how close we were. I was in section I1, row 8, which was the first row of that section. I was at the exact edge of the stage, looking straight ahead at Elton's face. I couldn't see the video screen though, but I didn't need to. It was awesome. I couldn't believe it. We waited for a few minutes, then finally Elton came running out onto the stage and I started screaming my head off. He was wearing a black suit with a sequined stripe down both sides of his pants, and a sequined Versace symbol on the back of the jacket. He started Your Song and of course everyone went crazy... I took a couple pictures then. I was surprised that the place didn't check for cameras because the tickets said NO Cameras/Recorders. My mom actually saw somebody videotaping it.
I hear that at some concerts he took off Amazes Me and did Better Off Dead, but he did both at mine. Other than that, the set list was the same as far as I could tell. I was so glad to hear The Greatest Discovery, because that is one of my favorite EJ songs, and Come Down In Time, and Sacrifice were so cool. I loved how he let Carla / Etude run into Tonight... that sounded so pretty. I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That got everyone clapping and dancing, and later Take Me To The Pilot did the same. Whenever he came down the edge of the stage to sign autographs, he was so close to me... I got some really good, close pictures. After Bennie & The Jets, he changed into a really cool Nike suit and shoes... and dedicated The Last Song to the AIDS sufferers, which I loved. When he ran off the stage at the end, he was soo close to us... we watched him run out the door. All in all, it was an evening I'll never forget... I loved every minute of it, and am looking forward to the next time I get to see Sir Elton in concert.
