It was quite a show. Three generations of Elton fans went. I had been worried about the seats, sitting right behind him. But, I think I had one of the better seats in the whole place! I couldn't get over how great they were.
The 2 grandmas were quite impressed with Elton. They commented on how much energy Elton has to pound out those songs and 2 sing for over 2 1/2 hours. The best part of the concert for me, was when he did Carla / Etude and went into Tonight. I just closed my eyes when listened to Carla / Etude. It is so beautiful. My mother loved it.
Now, for the one regret. I should never had taken the 4th member of the group.... my 8 year old son. I thought he was ready. I was wrong. But, you never know until you try. And it didn't ruin it for me, just put a damper on it. He had just written, sent a picture he drew to Elton and gotten an autographed picture back, 2 days prior to the concert. We'll try it again in a couple of years.
Solo versus with band? I'll take it both ways. It was a nice change. It was great to hear songs that I had never heard him do in previous concerts.
