Fort Wayne report

By Rita Bjork

Well what can I say?? Marty W pretty much summed it up - the concert was AWESOME. First of all - thanks to Bradley for the tips on places to go in Fort Wayne, and also the great directions. We sure appreciated it!!

The concert was my first solo concert, and I won't ever forget it - hearing songs like Skyline Pigeon and Ticking live was worth the 8 hr drive. And you couldn't beat Carla Etude/Tonight - just beautiful.

My only complaint about the concert - security was very strict, and would only let the 1st 3 rows go up during autograph time. They pretty much kept everyone away from the stage, although we made it there for Your Song and part of Skyline Pigeon, so I did get a few pictures. We tried to move up during various parts of the concert, but we always got sent back to our seats :-( We did find some unclaimed seats in row 9, so we sat there for the entire concert - AWESOME view!! It sure beat our original seats towards the back.

The crowd on the floor didn't stand and dance as much as I expected - that drove me a little nuts to have to sit most of the time, especially during Better Off Dead, Pilot, and Honky Cat. But Crocodile Rock didn't keep them down!!! They did get a bit livlier towards the end, thank goodness!

He sounded GREAT and seemed very pumped up, pounding his fists on the piano several times. Talking Old Soldiers and The Greatest Discovery were other highlights for me. Who could argue that this is the most talented musician around? He also played Can You Feel The Love Tonight, which surprised me. The great review by Marty summed up some other details, like what he was wearing, etc. I can honestly say that the Fort Wayne Memorial Coliseum was the best place in the world to be on Tuesday night!!
