Dayton Concert!

By Austin Scott

Dayton OH June 9 1999 thanks to Austin Scott

I was at the Dayton show on Wednesday, from the 3rd, yes 3rd row!!! We were off to the right side, but were lucky enough to still see his thinned out face! He wore a gorgeous midnight blue suit with a baby blue t-shirt underneath. After I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That we rushed the stage and I got the FIRST autograph of the night...a copy of my Blue Moves album cover. He took it in both hands and signed it really big, and fairly legible for a concert. For the encores, we were at the stage to stay which was great. He acknowledged the kiss I blew his way!! :)

The set list was great. Recover Your Soul was left out, as was Can You Feel the Love Tonight. Mona Lisas was added instead. Elton toyed with our section during Take Me to the Pilot when we were anxiously awaiting for the song to 'pep' up!! He slowed it out because he could hear us starting to sing it! I haven't been to all of the concerts on the solo tour, but I gotta say, and believe that this one would have had to have been the best. The audience was so in-to it. Towards the end, Elton said it was like a party. Kudos to the security people at the EJ Nutter Center for letting us go up to the stage.

The pictures turned out great, but because I'm still in Ohio, waiting to attend the Cleveland show tomorrow, I won't get to update my web page until I get back to Minnesota late Wednesday. I'll post the pictures then.
