In order to be completely accurate the volumnes of the season 2 tapes are actually. Volume Episodes 2.0 Points of Departure/Revelations 2.1 Geometry of Shadows/A Distant Star 2.2 The Long Dark/Spider in the Web 2.4 Soul Mates/A Race Through Dark Places 2.5 Coming of Shadows/GROPOS 2.6 All Alone in the Night/Acts of Sacrifice Leaving 2.3 strangely unused. (Perhaps a upcoming major motion picture - wishfull thinking)

I already left a comment. A good one I hope? But this is just odd... I am religiously going on your sit for TV schedules and video releases. So I hope I am not bothering but, there is a mistake on season 4 : It should be "Into the fire" instead of "Acts of sacrifice". Hopefully! For fans of the great actor, Andreas Katsulas. A firm date is set for his guest appearance on "Millennium". The episode "Forcing The End" airs Friday, Mar 19, 1999. He plays Moses Gourevitch, a member of a Jewish community that attempts to fulfill doomsday prophecies from the Bible. Check out Foxworld's schedule page for more details.

I finally saw SiL, and was saddened to see it end. I watched the final 10 minutes over and over and over...The final credits were a nice touch I might add. Also, I picked up the first 4 tapes in the US as I did not anticipate them actually being available up here. So, sadly, I am stuck with the crummy WHV version, not the SE version 8( and I'm not picking up another box set up here just to get it. Also, I've found the box sets up here to be WAY cheaper than the one I bought in the states. What I paid for in US funds I can get here in CDN funds, and most times even less!! Therefore, don't buy the tapes from the states. HMV and Future Shop up here are both very reasonably priced, so check them out first.

Just popped in this evening to fing news of cancellation of "Crusade". Horrors! Gnashing of teeth! Beating of breast in grief! I was a fan of B5 when I read about it in an issue of Science Fiction Age Magazine a year before "The Gathering" even hit the airwaves. (I'm a big Harlan Ellison fan) and with the ending of B5 I was really looking forward to a new adventure in JMS's universe. I can't tell you how sad this makes me. I have yet to view the last two B5 episodes here on BCTV, and I guess I had better treasure them. Thanks so much for running this sight, but I must say this was one bit of news I would rather not have heard. Good luck. As Delenn says, "Faith Manages."

I just wanted to leave my heartfelt gratitude for running this page. For a while I was worried that I wasn't going to be seeing ANY B5 but you've saved me. BTW, it's a little late but you might want to watch "Drew Carey" for the rerun of the show they aired Feb 10 '99. It had some kinda cute Babylon 5 references. What can I say, Stiles looks pretty good as a Narn...

Hi - thanks for taking the time to run this page - it is a GREAT resource. As no other Manitoba viewers have written in yet, I can confirm that yes, for some inexplicable reason MTN did show the last two episodes of season 5 in reverse order, so the dates you have up are correct. Stephen's reply: Thank you VERY much Morva! I was starting to wonder if anyone was watching in Manitoba.
Hi I just finished watching seaons 1-4 on the SPACE network & was disappointed to find they won't be running season 5 until fall.I have a fatal illness & I found B5 really kept me going with all the philosophy & "real person" type of script writing. My problem is I probably won't be around by fall ie I'll be with the "First Ones":-).I am wondering if anyone has copies of the fifth season they could lend me.I don't have much money but I will pay the shipping & my wife will make sure they get back to you. Thanks for your time, hope you enjoy the Crusade series & upcoming movies...Best Regards ..Bill McCallum

Stephen's reply: Thanks, but again it is people like you who help keep it up to date. Anytime you hear any B5 news please pass it along to me and I will add it to the Ranger Reports. I still haven't heard anything from MTN B5 fans to confirm if they played the last two episodes out of order!
I used to watch Star Trek, but after watching the first few episodes of B5 in 1994, I was hooked. The Star Trek series is not a patch on B5. It's the only show I've watched regularly for the past 2 years. Best show on t.v. --- easily. I've watched all the re-runs at least 3 times, and still enjoy them.

Stephen, My appreciations and thanks go to you for a truly informative site. After the 'tear jerker' this 50 yr old never thought of finding a truly 'Shakespearean' anticipation science 'reality'. It is in fact nice to find someone honouring the 'genius' of JMS for writting such an odessey and by the same token the phenomenal actors that were able to make us 'live' the adventure of a lifetime in one's mind eye... (Question: Do you know, can you find out is the COMPLETE series is due to come out on DVD as i'm ready to even prepay to get a copy of this masterpeice... Thank You.)

This is just to say thanks for taking the time to post this page; however I would like to also ask a question. Will Space:TIS be showing "Season 5" after it finishes it's 1-4 run, or does it not have the rights from TNT to run it? Any information that you could pass along to me and the other B5 fans in Canada (especially the Guelph area) would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again for the effort you've put in.

Matt, your site is great and although I have all of the episodes (up to date) already on tape, I will keep checking for updates on the new movies and the new series. I hope CITY plans on carrying the new movies in addition to Crusade.

Well, I've been going through your website, but I find nothing pertaining to the shoddy work CITY and SPACE are doing broadcasting the Season 1-4 Episodes (audio-video non-synchronous by 0.3 seconds) and the Movies (end credits butchered and commercial breaks overrunning into the show).

I was at Toronto Trek this year and absolutely cringed when I heard that CITY and SPACE were getting the B5 rights. I expected the worse and was not disappointed from the Moses Znaimer chop-chop machine. Znaimer should stick to the skin flicks they excel at broadcasting (ie. unedited versions).

CFMT should be encouraged to bid vigorously for the rights to B5. And I've already contacted Warner Bros and TNT about the low-down on the Znaimer butcher-job in process.

I encourage all who care about quality programming to write to Warner Bros and TNT to complain about the present state of B5 broadcasts.

We can't let that butcher Moses get away with this!

Sincerely,
Andrew

Stephen's reply: I have heard many people comments on various things that have happened to B5 on Space (part of the CHUM group of stations). I agree with you in that I hate it when there isn't a proper fade to black for a commerical. Or my personal pet pevee: cut off credit or split screens so you cannot read them (OK, Space doesn't do this - but I hate it so much I want to add it).

However, the a/v problems you mentioned, I wonder if the problem may not be with the distributor and nothing to do with Space. As I don't work for Space I cannot answer this question. But I would suspect the people at Space would care about this and be working on the problem. It's not like the audio and video is on two different tapes.

I remember when CFMT played B5, the distributor sent them a mislabled tape and they ended up showing the same episode twice and missing one all together the first time threw. Plus they had problems with the CC.

So I think it's great you sent WB (I doubt TNT will care) a letter, I hope you CCed CHUM/Space so they can respond. But to be totally fair it is possible Space is not at fault. Then again maybe they are, but don't jump to conclusions until you have the facts.

So sending a letter, IMO was the right thing to do. At the sametime, why not send a letter to CFMT thanking them for the great job they did.

But, let's not forget about the fans who have been without B5 since season 2 when the BBS network dropped it. We've been very lucky in Toronto and Montreal, most Canadian's have been without the show since season 2. Mistakes and all I'm sure they are happy to see B5 again, it is better than nothing. Comments?

Stephen, you have, absolutely, the BEST, site I have ever seen. It is LOADED with info. I don't care about graphics! I want info, and you provide. I just found B5 on BCTV!!!! I'm still just...SO EXCITED!!!! I have watched B5 from the beginning and... I CAN'T BELIEVE SEASON 5 IS HERE!!! Better quit now, sorry, but THANK YOU SO MUCH! Stephen, I love your web site! It has helped me keep organized enough to tape all the Babylon 5 episodes so far. I really like the Babylon 5 gatherings at Joe Mercury's that you helped organize. The latest B5 movie "The River of Souls" was even better than "Thirspace". I am getting a VHS Stereo Hi-Fi tape of that show from my U.S. friend with a Digital Satellite dish if you are interested. I am still sending B5 Season 5 tapes out West for the Fans in Vancouver and Calgary who have missed Season 5 so far. Best regards and keep up the great work on your site. --- Hal North

As your friends in Calgary and Vancouver, can't wait for A-Channel and BCTV to catch up?

Does anyone have any idea when Space will pick up on Season 5 (you would think logically they would pick it up after season 4, but they haven't made any announcements yet)? I also wish to find out when Space will start their voting for the top shows for the Boxing Day marathon! Asides from that I just saw River of Souls on the weekend...I give it a 7/10. It was way better than Thirdspace.

Stephen's reply: Since I've been asked this question a few of times via e-mail I thought I would post a reply publicly.

Remember, I am no way associated with WB, A-Channel, BCTV, MTN or Space. Therefore, this is all speculation on my behalf. However, my best guess would be: Sep '99 once WB considers season 5 to be over.

How did I reach this date? I'm guessing the recent sale of B5 Season 5 to A-Channel, BCTV and MTN were as a current season program. I expect once their contact ends that season 5 become available as a repeat syndiacated program (like MASH, Cheers, etc.)

BCTV's run end in March. BCTV then may have the right to show the show once in repeats which would mean another 22 weeks, so into Aug 1999.

Then if the ratings have been good enough, (i.e. they can sell commerical time and make a profit) Space will consider purchasing the fifth season. Even if BCTV's rights end in March I would suspect Space would hold off showing Season 5 until the fall of 1999 to make it part of it's fall line up to keep/attract new subscribers. But I have been wrong before and I will be wrong again!

If you would like to see season 5 or have just enjoyed seeing seasons 1-4, on Space, then why not drop them a POLITE letter (pen to paper means more than e-mail). Let them know you are happy they are carying B5 that you love watching the program. If you go to the Space chat area you will see lots nasty letters where people are complaining about various issues. Excuse me, but if you were that station manager would you be as likely to want to continue with that program? If you have a beef, raise it but be polite! Don't beat them over the head and jump up and down.

As for the vote, they're still working on it. They are having a couple of technical issues they want to work out first. I'll be adding a link as soon as the site is up.

While you thinking about your picks. Why not send Space (or any of the other stations you are watching B5 on) a Thank you note (even by e-mail). Don't you like it when someone thanks you?

Thanks Matt. It's an excellent resource for all the Canadian B5 fans, esp. the series has been tossed around from station to station in the last couple yrs. It's really a nightmare to keep track with its schedule. I am just sorry that I found your page so late. It's the best for finding out what is happening to Babylon5 here in Canada. I have watched over the years, many Sci-Fi programs all of which I enjoy. When Babylon 5 firsted aired, I thought it was the best one yet. It was very different than Star Trek. Differently better than watching Soaps, and yet each episode didn't leave you hanging. It somehow linked all episodes into one great Novel. This is the only program I have taped.

I personally don't mind the information about the other actors one bit. But what I would love to see more is station specific news. Perhaps you could relay any important information that is mentioned on the Southern Ontario B5 Mailing List over to this page, but separate the news into their respective areas (i.e. CFMT news separate from CFCF news). I unsubscribed from the mailing list long ago because I felt there was too much chatter going on that didn't interest me, and it was increasingly difficult to screen through them to find out what I really wanted. Thanks!
