How do I turn on Delay AutoLoad Images?
How can I speed up Chimera?
How do I run Chimera so it does not bomb on a page with a lot of graphics?

Comments: For any Graphical Web Browser most of your time is going to be spend upon waiting for the graphics on the page to download.

While the graphics on the page might look nice, most of the time you are going to want to just access the text information and ignore the graphics. I know in my personal case 90% of the time I just Lynx because you can't beat the speed. If you use a page quite a bit, waiting for the graphics can be a pain!

For 4M system graphical page will cause Chimera to crash as your system just does not have enough memory to display all the information.

So why note turn off the graphics? Setting Chimera up so that the images are not loaded by default will: improve the speed of the browser, free up more space and allow you to run several programs at once. Solution:

How do I change the Home Page that Chimera Starts with?

Comments: We hope you have enjoyed the TAF Home Page. The TAF WWW Home Page has actually changed quite a bit from the version we currently send out with Chimera. You might want to chick on the hypertext link to see the new version of the page.

Solution: There are a couple of ways you can change the home page. You can edit the file home.html found in the directory /usr/lib/X11/Chimera and create your own HTML file to start. (Creating a HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) file is very easy.)

Or you can "borrow" someone elses code by ftp-ing it, or using cut and paste and calling it home.html. (Please make sure you acknowledge it's someone elses work and not your own).
