Well, this evening I had dinner, then made lunch for the next few days with the last of the lupini beans, white kidney beans, pink beans, chili beans, navy beans, pinto beans, onions, and some mushrooms and turnips I put in the freezer before I went on vacation. That really bulked it out quite enough, so I skipped adding tofu. The lupini beans are pretty labour-intensive little monsters. I tried simmering them for 15 minutes to loosen the skins, but it's no good; I had to pressure-cook them for half an hour, pop the skins off by hand, then pressure-cook them for another half hour along with the other beans.
Then I started up a batch of blueberry oatmeal, and once it's done I can go to bed, at last. I have not exactly been sleeping regularly since I got back from Manitoulin island. I keep looking at the graph I generated of my computer usage since January, which (surprise!) is pretty much a graph of when I'm awake at home, and thinking that I did the data conversion wrong. It's just a train wreck.
As luck would have it, I got pulled off of the torturous project where I was spending all of my time correcting other people's grammar (some people enjoy that kind of thing, I hear, but not me) and attempting to reproduce bugs, which is about as satisfying as trying to build card houses out of cash-register receipts. So much fun.
Anyway, now I'm running a mop over every inch of the source code, and it is my fond hope that I may get it to a state where I can't write my name in it any more when I do a more conventional change, because there's not enough filth and litter for my compulsive tidiness to show.
Now, if I could apply this same fanaticism for neatness to my apartment, it might be a half-decent place to live, although the light's not much good.
