For those that may be interested, I found a really unique REXX
script that does exactly this. The total size of the script is
under 100k including very good imbedded documentation (comments).
The purpose of this rudimentary newsreader is to use the DejaNews
WWW site as a news database, which is does very very well, even
allowing posts to usenet from your own newserver to groups that your
newserver does not carry. 'Quite an amazing script.
I was wondering if Chin, or some other brilliant programmer, would
consider packing the screen output or the temporary text files that
it creates in a separate directory into a souper packet so that a
session could be imported to yarn.
DejaNews is accessed completely within the paradigm of this $5.00
shareware program and the output is pure text in a straight text box
just the same as yarn. In fact, I believe that all of the functions
of this very elegant script could be easily incorporated into Yarn
which would enable web browsing in real time for other sites.
BTW, REXX is an IBM scripting language provided with OS/2, but can
be run on any platform with an interpreter. ( I believe that
scripts can be compiled for other platforms as well so that an
interpreter is not required. )
