Yes, all the information is a bit daunting. In the end, I more or less
just used it as I used Souper

Download your newsgroups. Add the new ones, then use the "catchup".

Vsoup has the option to add all newsgroups on the server to your newsrc
file. These are added in an unsubscribed state. So I did this, copied
the file and then deleted the unsubscribed groups from the newsrc file.
