I keep two copies of qedit, one is configured with qconfig to start in
wordwrap mode, and i'm using that copy when writing messages.

Other solution is to save a macro and execute it whenever you start
qedit. Here is how to do it:

1. fire up qedit and hit ^M for macro recording.

2. When prompted for a key to assign your macro, hit any key except
Enter (^w is a good choice), it doesn't matter. Answer yes to
'overlay existing command'

3. Hit ^o w to go into wordwrap mode

4. hit ^M again to finish macro recording

5. choose Macro/Write macro from the menu and save it as wwrap or
something

Now you have your wordwrap macro. Invoke qedit with q -ewwrap filename
if you want wordwrap.
